英語構詞法期末考公告

由於放假的關係，英語構詞法期末考確定的題型，未能在最後一堂課及時讓修課同學獲悉。今藉此版面，公告前兩大題的作答說明。

Part I. Language of Origin. For each of the following English loanwords, name the language (Latin, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) from which it is immediately borrowed. 20% (共 20 題)

e.g. ling -- Chinese

Part II. Story behind the Word. For each of the following eponyms, briefly recount, in English or Chinese, how it is derived. You may follow the example below. 20% (共 10 題)

e.g. panic -- Based on Pan, a mythological Greek god of woods, fields, and flocks, whose presence would allegedly be a source of terror in flocks or herds

此外，第三、四大題為鐵板一塊的英翻中和中翻英，共 30 題，計 60 分。中翻英援往例，給同學提示頭尾兩個字母，冀能喚起部分同學已經渾沌的記憶。

修習一、二堂的同學尤需特別留意，考試 8:10 準時開始，8:30 以後無法入場，請確認自己的鬧鐘、考量當時的交通狀況、並計入可能突發的因素，提早出門。
